The Desire & Reluctance of following through - Reflections of the soul - Part 1
How practicing availability, and presence can balance the duality.
We’ve all experienced that feeling of not following through with something at some point in our life. Maybe we’re still are from time to time. Whether it be in starting a new side hustle, wanting to move house, countries, jobs, and even relationships.
We often start out with great inspired intentions. Only to find out a short while later that our enthusiasm is waning, and falling into the trap of feeling; fear, failure, rejection, disappointment, imposter syndrome, and distraction. Framing the questioning to ourselves and choices in a negative and non-loving way. Negative prompts like;
Maybe l should give up after all who am l to think l can do this.
I’m not worthy for this to be a success.
I don’t know/experienced enough.
But why are our feelings of inspiration and positivity so quickly replaced by feelings of fear and failure?
Perhaps it is something in our unique DNA, our neurobiology handed down through generational personality traits. Or maybe it’s about trying to simply re-programme our unique patterns. Contemplating (but not procrastinating) about not being able to conclude our goals/projects all the way however may reveal a deeper meaning. Could it be our relationship to fear, failure, rejection, and imposter syndrome raising their ugly heads again?
So what can we do instead try to replace these hope, faith, determination, accountability (to ourselves).
Maybe it’s a reset of managing our expectations in reality along with a healthy dose of positivity, optimism, journalling, and being honest with yourself.
In Part 2 we’ll explore this topic even further by delving deeper into this enigmatic struggle. We'll peel back layers, exposing the raw edges of our desire juxtaposed with our reluctance, setting the stage for a profound exploration of the very essence of human ambition and its silent adversary. Touching upon the Neuroplasticity and mental reprogramming of the brain and mind to overcome the fear and inability to follow through.
